“As Scott and I began our journey of growing grapes and making wine, several people and events helped us refine our winemaking craft. We will forever be grateful to some of the founding members of the RVVA, including Beth and Victor Edwards, Bill Schweitzer, Mike Kopp, Teri and Micole Moore, Carolyn and Andy Harris, and Steve and Marilyn Kahle.

Whenever we had questions, they offered answers—not only about growing grapes and making wine, but also about the legal and logistical aspects of becoming a winery. Just as important was the opportunity to participate in the annual Lum Eisenmann Wine Competition, through which we received valuable written feedback that helped guide our future endeavors.

After years of “practice,” we went commercial and haven’t looked back since.”
